Margaret E. Petree, DMD

Dr. Margaret Petree grew up in Barrow County and graduated from Winder-Barrow High School. After high school, she attended the University of Georgia and completed her bachelor's degree in Avian Biology. While in college Dr. Petree played the piccolo in the Redcoat Marching Band, where she met her now husband, Chandler Dickerson, who teaches middle school band in Jackson County.

Dr. Petree completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. She then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Dental College of Georgia with advanced training in treatment of medically complex patients, IV conscious sedation, and dental implants. She also completed the American Academy of Implant Dentistry MAXI course while in residency.

Community service has been important to Dr. Petree throughout her dental career. Prior to dental school, she assisted her father, Dr. Lewis Petree, and the General Practice Residency department at DCG as they provided free dental treatment at the Georgia Dental Association Mission of Mercy charity events in Perry and Augusta, Georgia. She also supported Dr. Lewis Petree and Dr. Chris Seibert with patient care at the Baptist Mobile Health Ministry organized by the First Baptist Church in Winder.

During her dental residency, Dr. Petree volunteered her services with the Remote Area Medical in Savannah to provide free dental treatment for patients in need.

Dr. Petree stays current with professional education and ongoing research updates through her memberships in the American Association of Women Dentists, Georgia Dental Association and American Dental Association.

In her free time, Dr. Petree enjoys horseback riding, traveling with her husband, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldawgs. She is so excited to return to her hometown to practice dentistry!
