Dental Office History and Timeline

• 1955 Dental practice founded in Winder, GA by Dr. John E. Stansell
  • 1st office located in downtown Winder behind Winder Women's Club
• 1969 Dr. Doyle Stickland joined the dental practice with Dr. John Stansell
  • Stansell & Strickland Family Dentistry
  • The 2nd dental office (round building) built at 206 East Broad St., Winder, GA
• 1983 Dr. Robert Stansell finished dental school and returned home and joined the dental practice
  • Stansell, Strickland & Stansell Family Dentistry
  • The practice opened a second office in Braselton, GA in the Braselton Brothers Historic Building
  • Dr. Robert Stansell opened the Braselton office upon his return from dental school
  • Associates who worked in the Braselton office through the years included Dr. Eddie Wall, Dr. Ponnie Poisal, Dr. Chris Childs, and Dr. Andrew Tam
• 1988 Dr. Lewis Petree finished dental school and began a 1-year general practice residency (GPR) in Columbia, SC
• 1989 Dr. Lewis Petree joined the dental practice and worked in both the Winder and Braselton offices
  • Stansell, Strickland and Petree Family Dentistry
  • Began offering sedation dentistry, implants, and more extensive dental surgery
• 1993 Dr. Robert Stansell and Dr. Lewis Petree became 50/50 partners
  • Dr. John Stansell sold his half to Dr. Robert Stansell
  • Dr. Doyle Strickland sold his half to Dr. Lewis Petree
  • Practice continued as Stansell, Strickland & Petree Family Dentistry
• 1994 Dr. John Stansell retired
• 1995 Dr. Doyle Strickland died unexpectedly at the age of 52
• 1998 The dental practice built and moved into its 3rd dental office at 369 East Broad Street, Winder, GA
  • Stansell & Petree Family Dentistry
  • Digital X-rays began in the new office with patient education screens in all operatories
• 2001 Sold the Braselton dental office to Dr. Andrew Tam
• 2005 CEREC® single-visit crowns began at the dental office
• 2012 CBCT Cat-scan 3D X-ray technology introduced
• 2015 Dr. John Stansell died at the age of 87
• 2016
  • The dental office acquired Dr. Faye Burnett's patients upon her retirement and relocation
  • 2016–2018 Dr. Mark Ferdos associated with the practice before leaving for a solo practice in North Georgia with Dr. Meg Ferdos
• 2018 Dr. Chris Seibert joined the dental practice as an associate
  • Stansell, Petree & Seibert Family Dentistry
• 2019 Dr. Chris Seibert purchased Dr. Robert Stansell's half of the dental practice
• 2020 Dr. Robert Stansell retired
  • Petree & Seibert Family Dentistry
• 2021–2023 Dr. Allen Vickers associated with the dental practice
• 2022
  • Built second wing at 369 E. Broad St., Winder with four additional operatories and a lab
  • Dr. Margaret Petree graduated from dental school and began a one-year GPR in Augusta, GA
• 2023 Dr. Margaret Petree completed her GPR, returned home, and joined the practice as an associate
• 2025 Piezotome technology added for enhanced patient care and healing with extractions and implants
